Do you tip in BARBADOS?

The tiny Caribbean island of Barbados is a popular destination for tourists looking to relax amongst the sun and sand. Like other tourist-centric islands in the Caribbean, local workers strive to provide exceptional service and as a result, have built their own expectation of what constitutes proper tip etiquette.

So, do you need to tip in Barbados? The answer is mostly yes, tipping is a common occurrence especially in touristy areas of the island. However on certain occasions, such as at a  restaurant or hotel where they may charge a service fee, in essence, this technically already counts as the “tip”. So any extra tip on top of the service charge is up to the patron, you may for instance want to tip a little bit extra for exceptional service.
