Do you tip in CROATIA?
Croatia is known for its stunning coastline as well for being the birthplace of the famous inventor Nikola Tesla. Just like other countries in Europe, it can be hard to tell whether tipping is a custom or not. That is why we put together our comprehensive guide to tipping in Croatia below.
Traditionally tipping has not been a big part of Croatian culture and isn’t widely practised by locals. However, this doesn’t mean that it isn’t something that is graciously accepted by the locals working in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
So, if you receive outstanding service it is always nice, as a traveller, to leave a small tip as a way of rewarding the hard-working Croatian locals.
However, just remember that unlike other countries this isn’t a strict requirement. And it definitely isn’t seen as an insult in Croatia if you choose to skip leaving a tip.
So is tipping a requirement in Croatia? Well technically no it isn’t a requirement, it is however seen as a polite gesture to leave a small amount for outstanding service.
